It’s Your Song is an in-person, monthly Songwriting Workshop paired with a Song Salon that makes learning and honing the craft of songwriting accessible and enjoyable.

• The evening opens with a sixty-minute Songwriting Workshop that presents a principle of songwriting craft best practices demonstrated by concrete examples from popular music. A prompt-driven freewrite activity provides opportunity to put each highlighted principle into practice.

• The second half of the evening opens into a Song Salon that invites up to eight songwriters to perform or present a recording of a completed or in-progress song for positive, craft-focused feedback from the workshop presenters.  It’s not mandatory to participate in the workshop to perform/present a song or vice versa. This event is all ages, but may feature mature themes.
